Because I need another distraction... / by Robert Spradlin

I set up a Twitter account today. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Wait, what? A tech savvy dude like you isn't already all over the Twitters? That seems hardly likely." Difficult to believe, I know, but true.

Twitter has always seemed both completely overwhelming and rather redundant to me. I'm already connected to the people and things I want to be connected to through other venues. Why do I want want another distraction in my day?

It was photography that finally pushed me over the precipice into the maelstrom that is the Twitterverse. I am ferociously passionate about capturing in photos life, events, people, nature, the visual world around us. I am obsessed with constant learning, exploring, expanding my abilities. And I want to share that passion. Twitter can be an asset in accomplishing all of that, I think.

So here I go. It is still quite overwhelming, but I've already made some headway in figuring out how to tame the clutter and get to the information I want to see, when I want to see it. The next step will be figuring out how to use Twitter to share my passion for photography with as wide an audience as possible.

You can check me out at @SpradlinPhoto. Not much there after 3 hours, but stay tuned...
